baseball where his grandfather Luis
Navarro was a trainer for the Cuban
National team and was inducted into the
Cuban Baseball Players Hall-of-Fame. Many
of Coach Navarro’s childhood memories
included hanging around Cuban ball
players that played in the Major Leagues.
It was here where Coach Navarro found his

Coach
Navarro is also a co-founder of STaF
Athletics along with partner Coach Chris
Stafford. STaF stands for Sacrifice,
Teamwork, and Faith.
These three words were the focus of
a devotion led by Coach Stafford during
the 2002 State Championship run and the
name stuck. Coach
Navarro and Coach Stafford have focused on
a baseball ministry through STaF Athletics
and presently have travel baseball teams
starting at age 14. STaF
Athletics has
been building baseball teams since 2003.
Since then, STaF has placed numerous
athletes from all over Georgia and parts
or Florida and Tennessee in various
college athletic programs.
STaF has had several athletes scouted
professionally some of which were drafted
by major league organizations. Although
the main concentration has been in
exposing student-athletes to the
collegiate level, there is a process that
all potential student-athletes must
undergo. Coach Navarro knows how to
prepare his players to become marketable
and eligible to play at the next level.
Through STaF Athletics players will learn
what it will take to play athletics at the
next level.
| The
theme verse the STaF Program is Proverbs
16:3 Commit what you do to the Lord and
your plans will succeed.
Coach Navarro encourages the teams
to commit all that they do to the Lord on
and off the field.
Coach
Navarro and Coach Stafford have a vision
and a passion of using athletics as a tool
to minister. They plan on expanding this
vision through the addition of other
sports, new facilities, new Christian
coaches etc. |
